The Ketren Empire is a monarchic state encompassing 30 systems in the Colossian Stellar Garden. Among the largest nations in the region, over 78 billion residents live within Ketren space, with the majority living within the Ketren System. Conflict and supremacy over the Shenji Empire determine many of the Ketren's priorities, including a massive, highly advanced military force. Citizens of the Empire are encouraged to enlist even during peacetime, as it is believed that the Shenji are capable of deploying at the slightest hint of Ketren weakness. This belief, bolstered by the staggering success of the Shenji Empire during the Second Shenji-Colossian War, promotes a culture of fear, but also one of loyalty to the monarchy.
